Using Sona

Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Sona app, website and related services. By using Sona, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Sona.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for providing accurate eligibility information and keeping access to your account secure.

What Sona provides

Sona provides AI-generated companion characters, conversations and related media. Characters are not human and AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive or unexpected. Sona is for entertainment and companionship; it is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial or emergency services.

Acceptable use

You may not use Sona to:

• break the law, violate another person’s rights or facilitate harm;
• exploit, sexualise or endanger minors;
• threaten, harass, deceive, impersonate or unlawfully monitor another person;
• upload malware, interfere with the service, bypass safeguards or attempt unauthorised access;
• scrape, reverse engineer or commercially reuse Sona’s content or systems except where law expressly permits; or
• use generated content as proof of real events, real people or professional advice.

Your content

You retain any rights you have in content you submit. You give us a limited licence to host, process, reproduce and use that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve Sona, comply with law and enforce these Terms. You are responsible for having the right to submit your content.

Our content and service

Sona, its design, software, characters, branding and service content are owned by us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, revocable and non-transferable right to use Sona for lawful, non-commercial purposes under these Terms.

Paid services

If Sona introduces paid services, applicable prices, taxes, benefits and billing terms will be shown before purchase. Payments and refunds may also be governed by the app store or payment provider used for the transaction.

Availability and changes

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features, characters or content. We do not promise that Sona will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may limit or terminate access where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or violations of these Terms.

Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sona is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or loss of data, profit, goodwill or opportunity arising from your use of Sona. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us for Sona during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts of competent jurisdiction in India will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Sona changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
